World Mental Health Day (10 October) is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy. The first WMHD was in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries. On this day in October – supporters gather to create more awareness and attention towards both mental health, mental illness and mental wellness. Mental health conditions affect the lives of many around the world daily.  There is an increasing need to continue to provide information on strategies for wellness.
